Holiday Village detailed planning application

In 2010 the outline application was allowed (see below). SW Water have now submitted a more detailed application which includes the design of the houses, their location and so on.

Turbine near Roadford

The 67m turbine on land of Rexon Cross Farm near Roadford dam and overlooking the proposed holiday village is now in operation. The tree to the left in the picture is bigger than a house.

'Rumour' councillors cleared over row about Bavaria visit

Broadwoodwidger parish councillors have been cleared of breaching a code of conduct when they repeated rumours that a fellow councillor, Marion Perkin, had gone on a foreign trip as "pay-back" for not opposing, as a Torridge District Councillor, the holiday village planning application.     ThisisNorthDevon...

The investigation followed a complaint about them from Leith Whittington, who was one of the few people in favour of the holiday village development beside Roadford Lake.

Marion Perkin has since resigned from Parish and District Councils.


Roadford Lake holiday village

The holiday village will be built above this inlet. There are still some matters, such as the safe disposal of sewage, to be sorted out before construction can begin.

The village will look like a housing estate and will change the character of the open countryside around the lake.   more...
